1. Henry TUTHILL Sr. was born 1580 in of Tharston, Norfolk, England. He died 26 Mar 1618 in Tharston, Norfolk, England.

"2  HENRY TUTHILL, son of John Tuthill was of Tharston, Co. Norfolk, Eng. was born in 1580.  He will dated March 20, 1618 was proved April 20, 1619 mentions his father John Gooch, wife Alice and five children.  The Church Register of St. Mary's, Tharston contains the entry of his burial on March 26, 1618 and records the baptism of all his children." "248.  The Tuhill Co. book says:  The parish register of Tharston, Norfolk, Co, England, has this:  that Henry Tuthill of Thorston, son of John Tuthill of Saxingham, married Alice.  They had a child John baptized Oct. 25, 1607, William, baptized Oct. 29, 1609, Henry, baptized June 28, 1612.  Had daughters Alice and Elizabeth, who came from England in 1635 in the vessel called 'The Planter.'  Henry came to Hingham, Mass., in 1637, sold his property there and removed to Southold.  John (brother of Henry) came to Hingham also in 1637.  He was a widower, and after a few years returned to England, where he married a second wife and settled at Weybread, Suffolk So., Eng., where he left descendants.  William, the other brother, came to New Haven, married wife Elizabeth."    (The Long Island Traveler, Fiche #6016168, pg 83.)

First I commend my sowle into the handes of Almightie God my maker and Jesus Christe my Redeemer by whose meritts I trust assuredlie to be saved and my boddie to be buried.
    Item I bequeath unto Alice my daughter the some of one hundred poundes of lawfull money of England when she shall accomplishe the full age of xxi the yearers to be paid by my executors.
Item I give unto Elizabeth my daughter the like some of one hundred pounes when she shall accomplishe the full age of xxi tie years to be paid by my executors.
    Item I give unto Henry Tuthull my sonne the tenement wherein I dwell with the howses, overyards garden and homestead containeing eleven ackers purchased of Peter Gleane nowe Alderman of Norwich, and xii ackers adioyneinge to the same purchased of John Gooch my father and also my closse called the Woodclosse containeing by estimation seven ackers be it more or lesse one other closse called Horsingfforth Closse containeing seven ackers and a pightle next adioneinge to the same at the east and thereof containeinge one acker.  Also one acre lying in the filed of Tharston aforesaid betwixt the landes of John Bucke of the sowth and northe parte and abbitteth uppon the landes of the said John east and uppon the Kinges highwaie west.  Also one pightle called the Kinges pightle lying betwixt the landes of John Bucke sowth and the landes of the said John in parte and John Browne in Parte north abbutting uppon the common pasture of Tharston called Negland Marshe west and the landes of Nicholas Westgate easte to enter and tenement and ground when he shall accomplish the full age of xxii tie years.
    Item I give unto John tuthill my eldest sonne all the rest of my landes tenements and heriditaments whatsoever when he sall accomplish the full age of xxii tie years uppon condition that he shall paie unto William my sonne the some of one hundred poundes of lawfull money of England when the said William shall accomplish the fill age of xxii tie years in the church porch of Tharston aforesaid.  And if the said John shall faile in paiement thereof then I will that his landes and tenements to him fourmerlie given shall remain to William my soone and his heirs forever.
    Item I give into Alice my all my aforesaid landes tenements and heridiments whatsoever until my said sonnes John Herie shall accomplish their several ages of xxii tie years if that she shall keep herself unmarried.  And if she shall marrie then I give all my landes fourmerlie given to my sonne John their rent to be equally divided towards the bringing up of my said sonnes John and Henrie intil my said sonne John shall accomplishe the age of xxii tie yeares.  The whole belongeinge to the tenement to him and his heires ippon condition fourmerlie expressed. And the landes given to my sonne Henrie I give to my said wife intil my sonne Henrie shall accomplish his full age of xxii tie years.
    Item I bequeath unto Margaret Race my mother in law the use of the parlour chamber where I nowe dwell with full ingresse and engresse into the same and convenient firewood dureing her life to be laid at the charge of Alice my wife or her assignes.
    Item I give unto Anne Woodyard my kinswoman tenne pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid by my executors when she shall come to the age of xxi tie years.
    Item I give to the poore people of Tharston aforesaid fortie shillinges to be paid within one month after my decease.  All the rest of my goodes and chattells whatsoever I give to my execitors whom I make Alice my wife and my brother John Tuthill towards the paiement of one hindred poundes which I give to my sonne William when he shall accomplish that age of xxii tie yeares.  And towards the paiement  of the residewe of my debtes and legacies willinge them to perfourme this my will in everie parte which concern them.
    Sealed subscribed and pronounced to be the last will and testament of the said Henrie Tuthill in the presence of us Andrew Lamborde the Mark of Richard Sad.  Henry Tuthill.

Henry married Alice Rae GOOCH, daughter of John GOOCH, on 1606. Alice was born about 1584 in Tharston, Norfolk, England.
