87. Moses Livermore (Moses , Moses , Josiah , Joseph , John , John , Daniel ) was born on 27 Feb 1787 in Spencer, Massachusetts. He died on 22 Jun 1859 in Lisle, New York.

He began life as a farmer, settling on a farm given him by his father in the town of Lisle. He afterwards followed the trade of a mason for a few years, and then became a miller, in which trade he was engaged when old age compelled him to retire. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Moses married Bridget Robinson on 11 Jan 1810 in Boston, Massachusetts.

106. Rufus Livermore 1 (Phineas , Abijah , Josiah , Joseph , John , John , Daniel ) was born 2, 3, 4 on 29 Nov 1800 in Spencer, Massachusetts. He died 5, 6 after Jun 1880 in Fairchild, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Rufus was probably living in his father's household in 1820. The census lists one male of age 16 to 26 years.

Rufus is mentioned in various census records as living in Owego, Tioga County, New York in the years 1825, 1830, and 1840. He is listed in the Newark town census of 1835. He moved his family from New York to Columbia County, Wisconsin around 1855. He is listed in the 1855 Wisconsin Census Index for Fountain Praire, Columbia County. In 1865 he moved to Eau Claire County and lived in Fairchild, where he died around the age of 80.

According to the 1830 federal census for Owego, Tioga County, New York, Rufus was a head of household with three other males in the range of twenty to thirty years old. There was one female in the same range. There were two children under the age of five: one boy and one girl. This is most likely Rufus' first marriage, which is supposed to have produced four children in all.

Rufus is living with his family in Fountain Prairie, Columbia County, Wisconsin according to the federal census of 1860. He valued his real estate at $600, personal estate at $300. He was a farmer. In his household were his second wife Lucinda, and children William, Leroy, Dexter, Mary A., Walker, Adelbert, and Gertrude. Mary A. and Gertrude are not mentioned in other records, so a definite relationship is not established. The next two families listed in the census include two of Rufus' daughters: Lucinda Pettis and Melvina Martin.

The family was living in Bridge Creek Township, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin in 1870. Rufus was a farmer.

Rufus was living in Fairchild at the time of the 1880 federal census, age 79, and widowed. He was a farmer, and had sons Walker and Adelbert in the household, as well as daughter Alice, her husband Arthur Noble, and their infant of four months. Rufus died around 1880. Different dates have been found, but no primary record.

Rufus married (1) Mary Williams 1 about 1818. Mary died before 1840.

They had the following children:

Rufus also married 2 (2) Lucinda Kenyon 1 about 1838. Lucinda was born 3 in 1821/1822 in New York. She died 4 before Jun 1880.

They had the following children:

  133 F vi Emeline Merandi Livermore 1, 2 was born 3, 4 in 1841/1842 in New York. She died after 1910.

Emeline was married to John Gilbert. They were living in Bridge Creek, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin in 1880 with their several children. They are listed in the census right after her brother William Livermore.

According to a descendant's recollections, there were 15 children of all, 8 of whom lived.

In 1910, Emeline was a widow living in Fairchild Village.
        Emeline married 3 John Gilbert 1, 2 on 25 Dec 1859 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. John was born 4 in 1839/1840 in New York. He died 5 before Apr 1910.

John was a farmer in 1880.
  134 F vii Lucinda Arminda Livermore 1 was born 2, 3 on 14 Mar 1843 in New York. She died 4 on 11 Apr 1930.

Lucinda, 18, was in the household of Granville Pettis, 20, according to the 1860 census. They are listed after her father's family in Fountain Prairie, Columbia County, Wisconsin.

In 1870, the Pettis family was in Bridge Creek, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, with four children. Levi Pettis was also in the household, said to be 108 years old at that time! The Pettis family has much interesting information on him.

In 1880 there were eight children, and the family was in Fairchild. By 1900, Lucinda was widowed and living with brother-in-law Charles Pettis. The census says she had nine living children.

In 1910 Lucinda was still living in Fairchild, with her daughter Mary who married someone named Babcock.
        Lucinda married 3 Granville Mortimer Pettis 1, 2 about 1860. Granville was born 4 on 2 Jan 1826 in New York. He died 5 on 15 Jan 1899.

Granville was a farmer in Fountain Prairie, Wisconsin in 1860. According to the census, he valued his personal estate at $150.

+ 137 M x Dexter S. Livermore was born on 13 Nov 1851 and died after 1920.

Adelbert was two years old and living in Fountain Prairie, Wisconsin in 1860.

In 1880 he is a laborer, single and living in his father's household.

110. Josephus Livermore (Phineas , Abijah , Josiah , Joseph , John , John , Daniel ) was born 1 on 18 Nov 1811 in Spencer, Massachusetts. He died 2 on 6 May 1881 and was buried 3 in Thompson Valley Cemetery, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin.

Josephus and family lived in Maine Township, Broome County, New York in 1850. Anna Livermore, 88 years old, was living with them. This seems to match up with a great-aunt of Josephus.

In 1860 the family was living in Bridge Creek Township, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Josephus was a farmer.

In 1870 the family was in Augusta, but Hepzibah has died and Josephus is now married to Jane. Josehpus worked in dry goods grocery. There were additional children with the last name Hall, which could be Jane's children from a previous marriage.

Josephus is mentioned in "History of Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, Past and Present, 1914". He moved from a farm in Thompson Valley to the village of Augusta, where he went into the drygoods business.

Josephus married (1) Hepzebah A. Foster 1, 2. Hepzebah was born 3 in 1813/1814 in New York. She died 4 on 10 Oct 1866 and was buried 5 in Thompson Valley Cemetery, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin.

They had the following children:

There is a Kate Livermore listed as a teacher in the Russell Corners school in 1894, according to the Centennial Celebration program of the Russell Corner School.

112. James Madison Livermore (Phineas , Abijah , Josiah , Joseph , John , John , Daniel ) was born 1 on 29 Nov 1815 in Spencer, Massachusetts. He died 2, 3 on 28 May 1910 and was buried 4 in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley, Tioga, New York.

James Madison owned land in Tioga County. After the civil war, he had black field hands living on the farm.

Madison retired from farming some time in the 1880's and moved to the Village; the home that he built is at 148 Main St. Madison died in 1910 at the age of 94; he outlived his second wife by 15 years.

The land was bought by the state of New York in 1933 and became part of Oakley Corners State Forest.

James married 2 (1) Susan G. Williams 1 on 17 Feb 1841. Susan was born 3 on 17 Dec 1818. She died 4, 5 on 23 Jan 1854 and was buried 6 in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley, Tioga, New York.

They had the following children:

James also married 2 (2) Maria Ann Griffin 1 on 11 Mar 1862 in Union, Broome, New York. Maria was born 3 on 2 Jul 1830. She died 4 on 31 Aug 1895 and was buried 5 in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley, Tioga, New York.

Livermore Family of America by Thwing (1902) says he was unmarried.
