My niece's Teasdale or Teasdell ancestors, like her King relatives, also come from the city of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

John was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in about 1786. I have not yet located his parentage or the actual date of his birth. He married Sarah Larn, the daughter of James Larn and Elizabeth Deacon in Great Yarmouth in 1811. He was 25 and she was 22. The exact spelling and pronunciation of their surname is not known, as in some records it is spelled Teasdale and in others it is Teasdell. I have also located a number of people in Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas with similar surnames ranging from Teesdale, Tisdale, Teasdell, Teasdall, Teasdil, and Teazle through to Teasdale.

I believe that John Teasdell was the proprietor of the Kings Head Hotel in King Street, Great Yarmouth in 1830. This record can be found in Piggott's 1830 Directory of England.

John and Sarah had 2 children that I know of.

Their children were:-

Elizabeth married William King at St Nicholas Church in Market Street, Great Yarmouth in May 1838.

The person recording the marriage of James chose to spell his name Teasell when he married Mary Ann Frosdick (Frosdyke) at Gorleston with Southtown in County Suffolk in 1836. I don't know anything more about them or their descendants.
