My niece's Larn ancestors, like her King and Teasdale relatives, also come from the city of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. It might seem strange to some to find a family with a Welsh surname living on the opposite side of England to the country from which they originated. The books "The surnames of Wales" and "Welsh Surnames" give the origin of the surname LARN as definitely being of Welsh origin, and give the name as being the Anglicised pronunciation of the place and surname LAUGHARNE - which in the Welsh language is pronounced Larn. These texts also link the Welsh Laugharne to Langhorne - which is a bit ironic, since my niece's family lived at Langhorne Creek in South Australia. If you think you may be connected to this family, I would love to hear from you via email. In the near future, I will be adding pages which deal with the connecting families.
