Most of the Document Files have already been referenced in other parts. I initially had planned to make copies directly available to anyone, but ran up against my webpage size limitations.
Important documents include the following:
- The Land Patents for Titus, Lucy and Family.
- The Titus Kellogg Family letters, including correspondence between Lucy and her children, the "Diary" she wrote, her son-in-law's journal, and other materials relating to the family. Not everything has been transcribed, and most are written in very florid handwriting, which has slowed me down a bit. Also included is some material relating to Lucy's son Charles Augustus Kellogg, who spent his years in Louisiana in the New Orleans area.
- The Kellogg Coushatta Bible. They are some of the oldest documents I have, and are in some ways the most interesting. Totsy's grandmother, Rebecca Frances Lindsey Kellogg, brought with her on the trip from Alabama to Mississippi to Louisiana a Family Bible (which I call the Coushatta Family Bible), which contains notations of some of the family births, deaths, and marriages, apparently written mainly in Rebecca's childish handwriting. I'm pleased to be able to make the details available to you at Notations in Coushatta Family Bible. and, as I state there, will make copies of the photographs avaialble on request.
- I also have copies of an Application for Confederate Pension filed by Totsy's grandmother, Rebecca Frances Lindsey Kellogg, which was ultimately denied.
- Totsy Kellogg family documents, including marriage licenses, obituaries, and other items.
- Materials relating to William Pitt Kellogg. I've developed a special fondness for one of the most notorious carpetbaggers on record, and have been pursuing the originals of documents relating to him. I've gotten most of the items available from the various Lincoln societies, but are pursing other sources, with idea perhaps of pulling them together into a book.
If you have a need for these items, please get in touch.
