Jeannette was born at Chandler, Lincoln Co, OK, on July 18, 1903.

She was listed as a daughter in Benjamin Allen Strickler's household on the 1910 Census at Salina, Saline Co, KS. She appeared on the census of 1915 in the household of Benjamin Allen Strickler and Elsie Edna Dihle at Salina, Saline Co, KS. Jeannette was a Girls' Quartette member at Salina, Saline Co, KS, between September, 1917 and May, 1919. She was listed as a daughter in Benjamin Allen Strickler's household on the 1920 Census at Salina, Saline Co, KS. Jeannette was a Y.W.C.A member at Salina, Saline Co, KS, between September, 1920 and May, 1921; she was. Jeannette was a Senior Girls Club member at Salina, Saline Co, KS, between September, 1920 and May, 1921. She lived with Benjamin Allen Strickler and Elsie Edna Dihle in 1921 at 622 S. Santa Fe, Salina, Saline Co, KS. She graduated from high school at Salina, Saline Co, KS, in May, 1921. School: Salina High School.

Jeannette attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority between 1921 and 1925. She was a member of the Women's Glee Club between 1922 and 1925; her senior year, she was Secretary-Treasurer. She was a member of Women's Athletic Association between 1923 and 1925; she was President her senior year. She was a member of at University of Kansas Y.W.C.A between 1923 and 1925. She was a member of at University of Kansas Varsity hockey team in 1924. She was a member of at University of Kansas Gamma chapter of Pi Lambda Theta, an honorary educational fraternity in 1925. She was a member of at University of Kansas Senior hockey team in 1925. Her yearbook description says "Jeannette Strickler, Salina, Chi Omega, Mortar Board, Pi Lambda Theta, W.A.A. Pres., Y.W.C.A. Cabinet, Glee Club Sec-Treas, Le Cercle Francais, Dean's Honor Roll" in 1925 at University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1925. She was a member of at University of Kansas Le Cercle Francais in 1925. She graduated from University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts on June 8, 1925. Jeannette was a Phi Beta Kappa member. Jeannette was a Mortar Board member. Jeannette was a American Association of University Women member.

She attended the Sorbonne in 1926 in Paris, France.

When she returned from France, she was employed by Stephens College as a French teacher circa 1927 at Columbia, MO. She then attended McGill University in 1927 Toronto, Canada.

She was listed as a daughter in Benjamin Allen Strickler's household on the 1930 Census at 622 Santa Fe, Salina, Saline Co, KS. She was teaching school.

She married Everett Adam Langel at St. John's Lutheran Church, Salina, Saline Co, KS, on February 1, 1936. They lived at 209 Greenway Road after the wedding.

Jeannette joined the Mary Strothers Ward Chapter DAR at Salina, Saline Co, KS, on March 10, 1938.

In 1949, Everett, Jeannette, Ben and Liz drove to California. The kids stayed with Florence and her husband in Long Beach, while Everett and Jeannette went to a convention in Los Angeles. Ben remembered two things about the visit: first, either he or Liz ate something new and came down with a bad rash, and second, Florence's family had television, the first they ever saw. On the way, they visited Carlsbad, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, they were walking down the sidewalk past a casino and Everett disappeared briefly. He slipped in one door, played a slot machine, and came out the other door with a handful of silver dollars.

She resided at Salina, Saline Co, KS, in March, 1974, at 58 Fairdale.

Jeannette was a Current Literature Club member in Salina.

She moved in 1985 to Brewster Place, Topeka, KS. Jeannette joined First Lutheran church there.

Jeannette died on November 4, 1994 at Brewster Place Retirement Community, Topeka, KS, at age 91. Her body was interred on November 7, 1994 at Salina, Saline Co, KS, at Roselawn Memorial Park. Funeral at First Lutheran Church in Topeka, Revs W. Gerald Weeks, Don Moses and Stephanie Kopsch officiating.
