Elmira Furmanda Green was born on July 11, 1825 in Culpepper Co, VA.

She joined the M. E. church, circa 1839, in Amosville, VA.

Elmira was probably a free white female, age 10 and under 15, in Moses Green's household, on the 1840 Census in Culpeper Co, VA.

She moved with her parents in 1842 to Pike Co, MO.

She married George Zackary Taylor on December 8, 1842.

She was widowed by George Zackary Taylor's death in Waterloo, Fauquier Co, VA, before June 1, 1850.

She and her children were listed as household members living with Elizabeth Taylor (her grandmother) on the 1850 Census in Culpeper Co, VA.

She bought property in Amissville, Rappahannock Co, VA, on October 19, 1853. She purchased 1 1/2 acres in Amissville from Robert C. Latham and his wife Mary C. She borrowed money from James R. Nelsom to help pay for the house and lot.

She sold property in Amissville, Rappahannock Co, VA, in 1864.

She moved on March 11, 1865 to Cherry Valley, Newark, Licking Co, OH, with George Robert Green and Sarah Catherine Green.

She was a member of the M. E. church, in Newark, Licking Co, OH.

She moved circa 1870 to York Street, Pataskala, Licking Co, OH, with George Robert Green and Sarah Catherine Taylor.

She was listed as a household member living with George Robert Green on the 1870 Census in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH.

She was listed as a boarder in John J. Solathe's household on the 1880 Census in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH. She was a seamstress.

She died on December 23, 1905 in at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Charles Langel, Pataskala, Licking Co, OH, at age 80. Elmira's funeral was held on December 26, 1905 at at the family home on York Street in Pataskala, Licking Co, OH. She was buried on December 26, 1905 in Pataskala cemetery, Pataskala, Licking Co, OH. An obituary was published on December 28, 1905 in the Pataskala Standard. An obituary was published on January 4, 1906 in the Pataskala Standard.
