According to the Butler Herald, (Taylor Co Ga), Willis and his Texas Bride came home Dec 1885 from Texas and didn't intend to return. Their first child, Linnie Mae, was born in Georgia, but by the birth of their second child, James in 1891, they were back in Texas.

Deeds made in Ellis County indicate that they were there the year 1898, so she died after the signing of this February deed. Exer Lou died around 1898 leaving Linnie Mae 11, James,7, and Dora only 4.

Floyd L, a younger brother died young from being thrown from a horse onto a steer in Texas. Maybe this was another reason Willis returned to Georgia.

In Dec 1893, his younger brother, John Wilburn, who had just graduated from Southern State Medical College, died with hemorrhage of the lungs and is buried in Taylor County, in Jinks family cemetery.

Willis M. married 2) Bertha Boggs on Nov 21, 1898 in Navarro County. Bertha was born in Arkansas and her father in Indiana and mother in Virginia.

Butler Herald
Dec 8, 1885
We had a pleasant call last Tuesday from Mr. Willis M. Jinks, of Rice, Texas, who has returned to his old home in Taylor County after an absence of several years. Mr. Jinks brings with him his fair bride a star from the State of Texas. Mr. Jinks is not very favorably impressed with Texas life and does not think of returning soon. He says the lands are rich and yield an abundance; there is a good demand for labor and wages are good, but sickness is the great preventative for human happiness.
