He would have been over 21 and resided in Georgia for 1 year
Jinks, Willis # 515 pg. 271 1 male 10-16 [1810-1804] son ? 1 male 26-45 [1794-1775] Willis 1 female under 10 (1819-1809) 1 female 26-45 (1794-1775) Rebecca WilsonThe following comes from "History of Gwinnett County Georgia" Volume III
Willis Jinks-Henry County-Land District 8-Land lot 75 (this became Butts Co 1825It straddles Highway 26, and is just West of Highway 41 at Henderson, GA, very close to the Macon Co., GA boundary line. A portion of Big Creek flows across the Southern part of this property. Although the Henderson Village resort has acquired a lot of the land in this vicinity, much is still farmland.
Willis Jinks-Houston County-Land District 15-Land lot 37 Houston Co., GA is located as follows: Willis Jinks of Henry Co., Ga. sold this lot on 11-22-1834 to Thomas P. Helton of Stewart Co.,Ga.
To trace the chain of title of this property, I would suggest starting with the comprehensive publications that Davine Campbell compiled (edited by William Henry), which includes 1821 thru 1840 land records. After that, it would require a search thru the Deed books or the microfilms of them.
Note the DATES!!
1) Tells us Willis owned land in Gwinnett 2)Didn't pay his taxes in 1822 3)Did they pay taxes after that year and continue to live there? 4)Did they just leave the land and move on and the County waited 22 years to collect the tax by selling?Gwinnett Co was formed in 1818 from Cherokee Lands and Jackson County. So is this the land Willis drew in the 1805 lottery (from Franklin Co)
