John Veal is first Veal in Bertie County.
*Not sure how this relates to my Thomas Veale. Both John and Thomas names sons -- Richard and Morris.

*Arnold Milburn is witness.  He married Renney (Penny) Harrell of Bertie on Feb. 4, 1800. Will of Henry Clay Milburn, March 8, 1797, -- he is a brother, and: Feb. 4, 1796, Samuel Milburn's will abstract mentions him as a son.  Richard Veal married Josiah Harrell's daughter, Anne.  Arnold's wife, Penny, was listed as heir of of Mary Harrell.

*** Morris Veal is their brother who died.  If Dempsey and Catherine got this share, then so should Richard, Thomas, Agnes, and Margaret Veale Ruffin.  Richard and Thomas, and perhaps Agnes, stayed in Bertie.  Richard and Thomas both have wills.  This is possibly the 44 acres Thomas Veale gave to his son, Maurice. He gave both Richard and Maurice two tracts -- one 44 acres, the other 157 acres.
