Mrs. Bazemore Writes of Delightful trip to Texas and Oklahoma After a most delightful visit to friends and loved ones in Texas and Oklahoma, I reached home safely on the 7th of Sept. However the trip proved most too much for me and have been sick for several days, but thanks to the Great Physician, and also Dr. Gordy, I am now able to be up. [note she was 64 years old. She married Rev. A.H. Bazemore Mar 7, 1911 - after Tolliver's death Aug 9, 1910]

I had a glorious visit, both spiritually and socially, withg my sons and families and one dear sister and family. It was indeed a happy reunion with these and other loved ones.

During my visit I visited the following places: Alma, Bardwell, Rice, Ennis, Fort Worth, Bryson and northwest Texas, Roff and Hickory, Okl. and thence to Jerymn, Texas, [Jack County] where my eldest son resides. [Henry T.] He has a beautiful home located in a valley almost surrounded by mountains, and fairly good crops. Crops in this part of Texas were almost a failure last year owing to the dry weather.

Next I visited my son in Oklahoma. [John M.] He lives in a very rocky country near a large cattle and horse ranch. He raised corn, forage for stock, such as millet, sorghum, caffa corn, meadow hay, also some cotton however, his cotton crop was almost a failure which was a general complaint everywhere I visited.

Since leaving Oklahoma, I have received the sad intelligence of affliction of my son, who has almost lost the use of his lower limbs. Only being able to walk by the aid of crutches. {Was this John M?}

On January 17, 1902, the Death angel came suddenly but surely and claimed for its victim the joy, the pride, the precious companion of Henry T. Jinks at their home near Alma, Texas. It seems so hard that one so dear who held such a strong cord of our affection should be taken from us and leave these precious little ones without a mother's love and this dear brother without a companion; but as he goes on to fight the battles of life may he realize that his precious wife has only won the crown in the glory land there waiting and watching for him, and those precious little ones tocome. While she has gone from among us her life was a perfect pattern for us to live by and imitate. How often have we seen this precious one gather with husband and children around the fireside and reconsecrate herself to God and His service. May God's richest blessing rest upon that home and fill it with sunshine, and while we feel heart-broken and our eyes are dimmed with tears, we do not weep as those who have no hope, for "some sweet day" we will all be gathered where there will be no more weeping and no more sad good byes.

Mrs. Belle Bazemore Passes Away

The death angel claimed the sweet spirit of Mrs. Olivia Arbella Jinks Bazemore, nee Harris at the age of 77 years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.A. Montgomery, in Macon County, at two o'clock Monday afternoon, August 10th. Her death was not unexpected as she had been in declining health for several months. "Aunt Belle", as she was affectionately called by all who knew her, was a deeply consecrated Christian woman. Since childhood she lived a faithful, loyal Christian life. For many years she took an active part in all church and Sunday School work. She was looked upon as one who's character was worthy of example, and even now, after God in His infinite wisdom and boundless love has seen fit to remove her from our midst, we believe that her lovable disposition and beautiful character will live as an example in the memory of those who knew her.

Mrs. Jinks was born in Crawford county in 1848, the daughter of Mr. Obediah and Mrs. Centurain Slatter Harris, and moved to Taylor county with her parents early in life. In 1865, about the close of the Civil War, she was married to Mr. T.L. Jinks with whom she lived happily until the time of his death, Aug 9, 1910, and was some years later married to Rev. A.H. Bazemore, who has since died.

Besides hosts of friends and many relatives, Mrs. Bazemore is survived by two children: Mrs. S.A. Montgomery of Macon County and Mr. J.M. Jinks of Oklahoma. The latter arrived to be at the bedside of his mother at the time of her death and will remain here for a few days to visit relatives and friends. One brother, Mr. S.H. Harris of Norwich, also survives her.

Funeral services were conducted for her at the Jinks family cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. H.L. Lumpkin assisted by Judge LT. Peed
