Ann's first husband was Unknown Jinks. Four children were born unto this union. Mr. Jinks died and Ann remarried. Joseph Matthews was the second husband of Ann. We know Joseph Matthews was married and had children with his first wife. We know he later married Ann Jinks, who already had four grown boys with her first husband (her maiden name is unknown).CHILDREN:The will of Joseph Matthews lists his wife, Ann. In his will, he gives his personal belongings to his children (from first marriage). Then gives the remainder of his estate to Ann Jinks and her four boys, his step-sons. The will of Joseph Matthews lists the Jinks step-sons. I assume Ann Jinks brought much valued land and possessions, from her first husband (Jinks) into the marriage and his will is giving those possessions back to the rightful owners, the Jinks boys.TinaMitchell TinaBopperM@msn.com

Parthena/Barthena married Benjamin on 13 May 1838. The brothers are the sons of Leonard Cagle, 1780, Haywood Co., NC. I don't think the Jinks girls are sisters but, I do think they are related. Yesterday August 9th, 2004 my father Richard Leonard Jinks died in his home on Trade Lake, WI, - Burnett county. He will be buried next to his oldest son Gregory Richard Jinks, dec.'d 11-1-2003 in Union Cemetery, St. Paul, Minnesota this week.
Announcements will be in the Pioneer Press Papers & others Wed. & Thurs. August 10-11. Richard was 68 yrs. old dob - June 22, 1936, St. Paul, Minnesota. Parents Lonnie (Leonard) Jinks and Lucille Murphy Jinks also buried in Union Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.
As you can tell, he greatly contributed to the continuation of the "Jinks" family name! His father, Lonnie Jinks came from Louisianna as a boy there are several relatives in the El Dorado, Arkansas and the Louisianna border towns near there.
My father made sure that "Jinks" remains a respected family surname. He was honest, loving, and most of all kind and generous. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed though never forgotten by those whose lives he touched.
