Willis Jones and Mattie Isabelle Watkins Jinks (AL)- Son Ernest Linear Jinks born in AL. Moved to TX.

All of my information on Wilson (?1808 GA) and on the family of Urias Jinks was found while searching through Macon Co., AL records for information on my William. The land records, census records and marriage records are all from official Macon Co., AL records.

My connecting Wilson as a brother to my William is based on:
1. They seemed to have arrived and were patenting land at the same time in Macon Co.
2. Wilson's son William C. established his household three houses away from William in Macon Co.
William C. and my William moved their families to Talladega Co., AL at the same time.
Then William C. and my Wilburn Smith (William's son) moved to Milam Co., TX at approximately the same time.
Wilburn named one of his daughters after William C.'s wife Marzilla Ann Dobbs.
William C., Marzilla and their daughter, Sarah Cornelia were all buried in the same Jinks family plot as my Wilburn's family at Walker Creek Cemetery in Milam Co., TX.

3. John Horace Jinks told me that the family was told that Willis Jones Jinks was a first cousin to my Wilburn. In the 1880 Macon Co., AL census, Wilson's widow was living in the household of Willis Jones Jinks listed as "mother". Willis Jones later moved to Falls Co., TX but the families frequently visited each other.

The information about Sarah and Tabitha being sisters of William came from Smith family researchers who stated that family records show that they were brother and sisters but do not reveal the names of their parents. Each of them married a member of the same Smith family. I can send you the file that I have on this family if you are interested.

The marriages of Mary and Martha are from the official Macon Co. AL marriage records.
Mary Jinks m. Nathan S. Duke 23 Feb 1845
Martha Jinks m. David Downing 24 Oct 1846

My listing them as sisters of my William is a guess based on the fact that William's family seemed to be the only ones marrying in Macon Co. at the time.
There is a chance that they could be daughters of Urias and Sabry Jinks but I have not been able to establish what year they moved from GA to AL so I am not sure if they were in Macon Co. during those years.
If I could find when Urias obtained his land, it would help me to sort this out. That is why, in my file, I note that this relationship to William is not proven.

The Louvisa was for Polly's mother and I believe that the Elizabeth was for William's mother. William and Polly's other daughters were Mary, Martha, Lourina Ellen & Fannie (Frances Margaret).
