(?)Unknown Male Jinks (Cumberland Co NC) married to Ann Sons: Joseph, Burrell, Mathew, John Source: Joseph Matthew's willProbate: Jan, 1791 1800 censusThis family should have been listed in 1790 under the Matthews household.
Idea from Barbara Montgomery:
Ann Jinks Matthews and the father of Joseph, John, Matthew and Burrell Jinks. The idea hit me that perhaps Burrell was her maiden name. I did a search on the LDS website for Ann Burrell and was surprised to find that the majority of the hits in the U.S. were in the Lynn, Massachusetts area where Joseph Jenckes/Jenks/Jinks settled in the mid 1600's. There seems to have been a large Burrell family there at the same time. I did not find a Burrell/Jinks marriage yet but I haven't given up on investigating the idea

No other mention in Court Minutes ( pub. by Poe) for the years, 1774-79; 1781-85; 1790-92 and Deed Bk. (by Poe) for years, 1770-82; 1780-85; 1783-88.
In 1784 the North Carolina General Assembly requested that a list of inhabitants be taken. Age and sex categories for whites and blacks are included. Compliance was slow and apparently incomplete, with some counties not responding until 1786. There is some evidence that another census was conducted in 1787; the so-called 1784?87 state census may be two censuses intermingled.
Extant portions of the 1784?87 state censuses are in Alvaretta K. Register, State Census of North Carolina, 1784?1787, 2d ed., rev. (1971; reprint, Baltimore, Md.: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1978).
Additional portions of the 1784?87 censuses have been located since the Register's publication. See Helen F. M. Leary, comp., "Bertie Co., N.C., 1787 State Census," The North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal 9, no. 1 (February 1983): 32?34.
Those counties do not have ennumerations in the book you mentioned, although Chatham County has a simple has a simple tally of its population given. The NC Taxpayers 1701-1786 and 1679-1790 do not list any Jenks or Jinks, but there are plenty of Jenkins and Jinkins listed.

Thad is living with 2nd wife Agnes and a blend of the children, hers, his and theirs
There was a daughter Estelle born about 1902 listed on the 1910 census. She would have been the daughter of Susanna and Thad.
Sometime between 1902 and Aug 1905 when Thad remarried to Agnes Breazeal Summers, Susanna Henderson Jinks must have died. There are unmarked graves of JINKS in Camp Creek Cemetery where Susanna's parents are buried. Does anyone know for sure if she is buried there?
Do you know where John Thad Jinks is buried or when he died? From rootsweb Union Parish query page, Thelma Jinks, notes that Thad is buried at Camp Creek and that he died Feb 27, 1965.
There is a Thad Ginks on the 1920 census. Anyone know if this is the same man as Thad Jinks? However, none of the information matches up between the two men.
Does anyone know what happened to the children of Susanna Henderson and John Thad Jinks?

Unknown Jinks Connections
I started with my maternal grandmother Martha E. WATKINS b. 6-18-1879 in MO. Married Chas. Stanton in Idaho in 1908
Her parents, according to her death cert. were Wm. J. WATKINS & Mary F. ( Latta) WATKINS.
Mary F. WATKINS parents according to her obit. & death cert. were Franklin LATTA and Julia Ann CAGLE.
In the 1840 Henry Co. Georgia census Distr. 30 Joseph Cagle is listed as having one daughter in 0- 5 age and two in the 5 -10 age. They would be Adaline, the youngest female and Julia Ann oldest, then Nancy Mary. Julia was married in 1847 so she never had her name in a census with her parents.
She seems to be forgotten, over looked or just plain ignored and I don't know if that can be changed. I doubt it. But just wanted you to know there was an older daughter of Joseph Cagle & Elizabeth Jinks and she was Julia Ann, widowed in 1866, left with five children still in the home still to raise. By 1880 she had married John Farmer and was living in MO.
My Grandfather was Henry Thomas Jinks b 9 Jul 1866, d 26 apr 1921, Hobart, Kiowa Co, OK he is buried there with my Grandmother Lula Berry, b 10 jan 1885,Kaufman Co, TX, d 30 mar 1965. They had eight(8) children including Joe Jermyn Jinks married Iva Lois McCauley. They had three(3) Children, Joe Dale Jinks, Anita Lois (Gruber) and Hiram Gary Jinks, .

Cherrese Kingsley kingsleycars@tiscali.co.uk (nee
Jinks), I have just embarked on the trail of my
fathers relatives, He came from Birmingham UK but i
believe its going to be a bit of a struggle as he is in
his late seventies and can only remember sketchy
details and moved to Hampshire in the 60's, and lost
all contact with his family there. As far as i know it
was something to do with his first wife and he can be
stubborn. He and his family as far as he knows came
from Kings Norton and Colmore area of Birmingham, and
used St Chad's for baptism, birth etc. Below is a list
of the names he can remember,
JINKS Derek John 27 3 1932 Harborne, Birmingham - my father
JINKS Henry Edmund Birmingham - his father
ROBINSON Gertrude Lillian 9 1895 Kings Norton - his mother
JINKS Stanley Edmund 1926 - his brother
JINKS Elizabeth Joan 1929 - his sister not sure of dates
JINKS Patricia Katharine 1935 - his sister
JINKS Polly - his grandmother as far as he knows as never called them by their first names
JINKS Henry - his grandfather
JINKS Ada - his aunt

Sarah Jinks born 1827. Her father was George Jinks. A Collier.
Sarah married Thomas Baxter in 1847 in Polesworth.
From the 1851 census I believe that he had died between 1847-1851 Could have
been a mining death. I will follow this up
His wife was Elizabeth ( Collier widow) and sons at home were George and
William. I believe they are the family as there is a Mary Ann Baxter (vist)
3 years with the family.
Also the ages match.

My gr-gr-grandmother, Sarah CHANDLER married Aquilla GARRETT in Vermilion
County. For some unknown reason, on their marriage record in Vermilion Co.,
Aquilla is listed as Aquilla GADD. For the marriage between Sarah CHANDLER
and Aquilla GADD, William JINKS attested to Sarah's age and gave his
permission. (William JINKS was the brother-in-law to Sarah CHANDLER.)
