Web pages often use external files to provide JavaScript (.js) and Cascading Style Sheet (.css) information to avoid repeating this information on each web page.  They are referenced in the web page heading as:

Security warning

There is never any risk saving a file to your computer or opening a file in Notepad.   Clicking on the file name, Opening, or Running it without verifying the safety is where there is risk.

Click on the "Save" button and select your "Desktop" folder.  [Do NOT click "Open" or "Run".]   The file name in the "Save As..." dialog box should be the same as the file you are saving, "myscript.js" or "style.css".  Then run your Notepad program and open the saved file.  You will need to select "All Files" in the "Files of type:" field to see the saved file in the file list.  Please acknowledge Jim Pool and this web site as your source when making copies of methods or file content.  See my Save page for details.
