Known to my friends and family as Sue, I was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I moved
several times as I grew up, but always within Sheboygan county and close to
relatives. The best of times were when I lived in the country and went to a two-room
school. I met Jim Pool when I was a Sophomore at Plymouth High
School and he was a Senior at Sheboygan Falls High School. It was love at first
sight. Jim went off to the University of Wisconsin and I finished High School.
Jim got me a place to stay and a job in Madison so that the commute was shorter.
After three years of courtship we were married in Sheboygan and returned to Madison to
finish Jim's degree. I worked in a department store and a bank to help the budget
and encourage Jim. Upon graduation, we headed for a job in Casper, Wyoming where Jim
worked for the Bureau of Reclamation (US Department of the Interior). Going west was
my life-long dream.
We adopted our first son, David, in Casper and then Jim was transferred to Denver,
Colorado, where our second son, Darren, was adopted. We bought a new home and put
down roots. We agreed that I would remained a home maker (a profession I highly
recommend) and Jim would follow a professional engineering career. I volunteered at
the school and decided to learn more about God. With the Bible as my main source, I
became a Born Again Christian in January of 1979. My faith gave me great strength
and comfort when David died in a traffic accident in 1986. We now are enjoying
retirement in the same home. Jim keeps busy with his genealogy and loves all the
contacts he makes on the Internet. I live an uncomplicated life due to a cronic
illness, but enjoy reading, lunch with friends, etc. Jim and I attend Faith
Community Church in Littleton where we are making wonderful friends.
Life is well and God is good. |
