1840 CENSUS OF PENSIONERS
From the area around what is now
Union County, North Carolina
As
part of the 1840 U.S. Federal Census, census takers obtained the names and ages
of all the individuals in each household who served in the Revolutionary War or
provided other military services.
Included below are the names from Anson County and Mecklenburg County, N.C., which Union County was formed from in 1842. Also included are the bordering counties of Montgomery County, N.C., Cabarrus County, N.C., Lancaster District, S.C., and Chesterfield District, S.C.
