Sarah Frances Rowell Simpson

 

This is a photo of Sarah Frances Rowell Simpson  (12 Aug 1880-01 Dec 1922)  She was the daughter of John Ervin Rowell and Sarah Ann Ogburn Rowell.  The mother of 13 children, she was pregnant when she died.  I don't know the cause of death.  Her husband was Reece Johnson Simpson (25 Apr 1878-18 Apr 1949.) They were married on 02 Oct 1898.  Reece was the son of John Culpepper Simpson and Martha Ann Clontz Simpson.  Reece and Sarah are buried at Price Cemetery.

After Sarah Frances Simpson died, Reece married a young widow, Elizabeth "Bessie" Price (02 Dec 1897-20 Apr 1993) She was the daughter of James C. Price and Thetus Colon Williams.  Bessie was the widow of Randolph Clayton Helms. [She and Randolph are also buried at Price Cemetery]. Bessie and Randolph had one daughter and Bessie and Reece had four more children. Reece is the second great grandson of William Simpson and Martha Orr, of Ireland/NC.  SEE ARTICLE.

 

This photo is of John Culpepper Simpson and Martha Ann "Patsy" Clontz Simpson.  John C. (22 Jun 1850-31 Aug 1921) was the son of James B. Simpson and Rhoda Williams Simpson.  Patsy (09 Mar 1850-22 May 1917) was the daughter of John Adam Clontz and Mary Ellen Weddington.
