DEFINITIONS OF SOME OF THE CAUSES OF DEATH SHOWN ABOVE:

 

Apopletic Fit Stroke or Hemorrhage

Bold Hives Croup

Consumption Tuberculosis

Croup Hoarse cough caused by virus, in infants.

Dropsy Swelling or fluid retention often caused by kidney or heart disease.

Flux Dysentery; An excessive flow or discharge of fluid like hemorrhage or diarrhea.

Gravel Passage of small stones formed in the kidney with the urine.

Hives In the 1800s, term used for croup, laryngitis or other condition where there is breathing difficulty.

Palsy Stroke or Paralysis; Uncontrolled movement of controlled muscles.

Putrid Sore Throat Ulceration of the Tonsils, or Diphtheria

Scroffula Tuberculosis of lymph glands

Teething Tooth infections with inflammation

Typhoid Fever - Infectious fever that causes severe diarrhea

Whooping cough Highly contagious disease of the respiratory system, usually affecting children.
