This photo shows a school group, possibly from Anson County, NC in the early 1900's. The only identified person in the group is Clarence H. "Tank" Martin, born Sep 22, 1888, who is the young man on the extreme left of this photo. He was the son of Samuel P. Martin and Mary Ann Carpenter Martin. They were living in Wadesboro Township of Anson County in 1900 and Lanesboro Township of Anson County in 1910, so it is assumed that the photo is of a school from that area.  The name of the school is unknown. Maybe someone can identify which school, and the other men. Clarence was b. Sept. 22, 1888, Anson Co., NC, d. Jan. 9, 1958, Winter Park, FL. He married Beth Eve "Bessie" Carpenter on Jun 28, 1908 in Polkton, NC. They are buried at Monroe City (Suncrest) Cemetery, Union Co., NC. Also see another photo of Clarence, a photo of his father Samuel P. Martin and one of his brother Earie Sanford Martin

Photos are from Ruth Martin Ratcliffe, Clarence's daughter.
