Married: William "Bill" Riley Ardis October 9, 1917.  He was the son of James Oakley and Sara Elizabeth (Hudson) Ardis.  He was born on October 9, 1893 in Logan County, Arkansas and died August 19, 1984 in Fort Smith, LeFlore County, Arkansas.

Maudy Ardis

Funeral services for Maudy Ardis, 74, Spiro, passed away December 23, 1974 at Sparks Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.  Mrs. Ardis was born at Booneville, Arkansas, and had been a resident in the Spiro area for 39 years and a long time member of the Spiro Church of Christ.

She is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Norene McCoy of Dinuba, California; Mrs. Elba Rogers of Poteau; Mrs. Oma Faye Mahan of Arkoma and Mrs. Azalee Dees of Spiro.

Services were held Wednesday, December 28 at Fisher's Funeral Home Chapel.  Internment was at New Hope Cemetery by Fisher's Funeral Home of Spiro.  Brother Joe Avery officiated.

She leaves 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Mullins of Brewster, Washington.

William Ardis

William R. "Bill" Ardis, 90, of Spiro died Sunday, August 19, 1984 in a Fort Smith hospital.  He was a retired blacksmith.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 1984 in Fisher Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial was at the New Hope Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Azalee Dees of Spiro and Elba Rogers of Keota; three sisters, Mary Gragg of Spiro, Jimmie Montgomery of Lavaca and Lela "Dee" Wilburn of Fort Smith; a brother, E. N. "Shorty" Ardis of Spiro; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
