Betty L. Barnes
Betty L. Barnes, 72, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, formerly of Booneville, passed away Wednesday, February 27, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on September 4, 1929 in Booneville to Chester Clay and Susan (Lacy) Bell. She had lived in the Glenpool area since 1950 and worked over 26 years as a medication nurse at Tidings of Peace Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, before retiring in 1994.
She is preceded in death by five brothers, Everett, Hershel, Roy, Lacy, and Herman; and one sister, Minnie.
A funeral service was held at 12 p.m., Monday, March 4, at Carolan Church in Booneville with interment in Carolan Cemetery, under the direction of Leonard & Marker Funeral Home of Bixby, Oklahoma.
She is survived by two sons, Rippy Gash and his wife Debbie of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Richard Lee Barnes of Kiefer; her husband, Claude A. Gash of Glenpool; one brother, Ivan Bell of Glenpool; two sisters, Ollie Smith of Glenpool and Ann Turner of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
