On Monday the 20th of this Instant, Died, at his Seat in St. Mary's County, in the 68th year of his age, the Hon'ble Philip Key, Esq., one of the Council of this Province. He was truly a pious and devout Christian, an affectionate and tender husband, an indulgent and fond parent, a humane Master, a warm Friend, a friendly neighbor, and a most agreeable and cheerful companion. His Death is sincerely lamented by his family , and all his numerous Friends and Acquaintances on 30 Aug 1764 at Annapolis, MD.67

David Collins: reports that Philip Key immigrated in 1720. This does not coincide with dates of birth of Francis Key being born in England in 1731.

He left a will (In his will he directed that his wife's coffin (Susanna Barton) be removed from the vault and that her coffin be placed on top of his. Their vault is still inplace at Christ Episcopal Church in Chaptico).68

He didn't know about her until she showed up on his doorstep, abt 1941 - she was pregnant, but didn't know it... *First time Madeline went to Florida to visit her father, Evelyn was in the hospital after a surgery. 1920 Indiana Census shows an Alfred W. June - age 18 living in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., IN - 47-10 *'Uncle Alfred used to come to Phoenix when Garr was in Phoenix and we'd play golf with him. He'd come down several times and then he was through he went back to California and he dropped dead the next day, he was cremated.' Ben June 8/8/97 *'Alfred was adopted out to Dr. Merrill.' Madeline June *Per SSDI, Alfred was the son who was adopted to the Merrill family. There was an Alfred Merrill born Sep 22, 1900 who died in Oregon, Mar 1976.
