Joakim is also known as Joachim. His first land purchase in Anson County, NC occurred on September 24, 1777, and therefore, the most likely date of his arrival to the area. According to land records he acquired over 700 acres along Richardson Creek from a William Brooks.

March 1818 Bill of Partition of Joachim Hudson's Estate, his late wife Sarah Hickson Hudson petitions against the heirs of Joakim's first marriage. The named brothers are Jesse, Elijah, William, Jacob, and Reuben. It appears that there were no children from Joakim's second marriage.

1846 Darlington County, SC Deed in which Jesse Hudson's Estate is divided and distributed by his eldest son, William Wesley Hudson of his first wife, to Jesse's second wife Anne Coker and children.

Darlington County Historical Commission News dated May 1991. Three sons of Jesse Hudson and Anne Coker fought and died for the Confederacy during the Civil War. Thomas H. Hudson was killed during the Battle of Seven Pines, Virginia. Jesse Hudson died in a hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Robert A. Hudson was mortally wounded in the Battle of Cold Harbor and died two days later. All three brothers served together under the same outfit commanded by their first cousin, Captain James Lide Coker.

Whigham who corresponded with the Darlington Historical Commission Center, who said that the date of 1769 was from a statement made by Elijah's son, George Franklin Hudson, that his father was twelve years old at the close of the Revolutionary War.

November 14, 1843, Elijah Hudson's Will was offered for probate in Jefferson County, GA. It was appealed and later proven in Superior Court. Exe: Eason D. Hudson and John F. Hudson.
