HANKS:
migration-KY>IN>MO
A little background on my husband's HANKS line--Charles Hanks was
born bet. 1850-1855 in KY. The earliest census record found
for him at this date is:
1860 Breckinridge Co. KY, District No. 1, p. 67:
Elizabeth Hanks District 1, Breckinridge, KY 25 Kentucky Female
Willis Hanks District 1, Breckinridge, KY 8 Kentucky Male
Charles Hanks District 1, Breckinridge, KY 6 Kentucky Male
As of late, I have not found him in 1870. He does appear,
however, in:
August 1879 Booneville, Warrick Co., IN where he married a Sarah
STULSKY. Sarah is actually Sarah Minerva/Minerva Sarah SIMS.
(see SIMS notes below)
1880 US Census; Ohio, Warrick Co. IN, p. 251C:
Charles Hanks, Self, Married, Male, White, 25, KY, Farm Laborer, KY, KY
Minerva Hanks, Wife, Married, Female, White, 25, AR, Keeping House, LA, AL
William Stulsky, SSon, Single, Male, White, 5, KY, PRU, AR
Charles Stulsky, SSon, Single, Male, White, 2, KY, PRU, AR
Ezard Hanks, Son, Single, Male, White, 1mth, IN, KY, AR
Charles apparently died before 1900--where is unknown. His wife,
Minerva is later found:
1900 New Madrid Twp, New Madrid, MO; p. 3
SKALSKY, Billie, head, w, m, May 1875, 25, s, KY, Germany, AL
Frank, brother, w, m, Sept 1877, 22, s, KY, Germany, AL
HANKS, Manervy, mother, w, f, April 1854, 46, wd, AL, LA, AL

GRAY, John, boarder, w, m, Dec 1881, 18, s, KY, MO, blank
HILE, Addie, blank, w, f, Jan 1885, s, MO, KY, KY
AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE BIRTHPLACES OF THE CHILDREN, THE FAMILY
MOVED BETWEEN IN AND KY BET 1885-1890.
THE CENSUS BELOW IS FURTHER EVIDENCE OF WILLIS' RELATIONSHIP TO
CHARLES:

QUESTION:
WHO WAS WILLIS AND CHARLES' PARENTS??
SIMS:
migration
unknown-found in KY, my speculations are based on the following:
Minerva/Manerva
Skulsky Hanks is likely Manerva Sims based upon the following census:
1870 Oakford, Daviess, Kentucky Census; p. 251
Charles Skulsky, 35, male, white, Farm Laborer, Baden, both parents of foreign birth, listed as US Citizen
(Charles is residing in the household of George Mundon, household
#95)
Household #96:
Sims, Fanny 37, female, white, keeping house, b. KY
Manerva 16, female, white, at home, KY----this puts her dob at 1854, which fits the birthdate of Manerva Hanks.
SEE 1910 CENSUS BELOW
FOR MINERVA--
