General Notes:
Reuben Rogers, Sr. was a soldier of the Revolutionary War, having served in the command of Colonel Elijah Clarke, and took part in the memorable Battle of Kettle Creek.
About six years after his marriage to Temperance James, they immigrated to Georgia and settled in Wilkes County on Williams Creek. This location at present is in the extreme northern part of Warren County. He died there in 1829, having lived to the ripe old age of ninety-four years.
His name is on the roster of Revoluntionary soldiers, and on the monument to the soldiers who fought in the battle of Kettle Creek; and further proof of his services is attested by the Land Grant Books in the office of the Secretary of State at Atlanta, GA. He was once captured by the British, and held as prisoner of war about six months at Augusta, GA.
Other Information on Reuben's descendants is from WFT Vol. 2, #373 "Reuben Rogers fought in the Revolutionary War along side brother Drury and other members of the Rogers clan."
