1800 Property survey, Thornton --------->
In 1800, John Wright owned and occupied the Upper
Moor Cock farm house and 8 acres of fields shown with green
dots. He also occupied the adjacent 11 acres
of fields owned by Daniel Hopkin. In 1861,
John's son Samuel Wright sold the property to his nephew

All 2 cottages (formerly in one tenement) situate in Thornton aforesaid one of such cottages being now in
the occupation of James Carr and the other unoccupied And also of and in all these 6 pieces or parcels
of land situate in Thornton aforesaid near to said cottages and known by the respective names and
containing by admeasurement the respective quantities following that is to say the Croft 3 roods and
39 perches The Ing 1 acre 1 rood and 34 perches Top Moor Cock 1 acre 1 rood and 2 perches Middle Moor
Cock 1 acre 1 rood and 21 perches Middle Bottom Croft 2 acres 7 perches and Lowest Field 1 acre
1 rood and 39 perches and also of and in a Barn adjoining the said cottages which said pieces of land
and barn are now in the respective occupations of Jonathan Wright and Samuel Wright
