The Justice Family

Some of the Justices of Haywood County are descended from Andrew Jackson Justice. Family lore has it that he was an illigitimate son of a couple from Dandridge TN named Harris and Roper.  It is not known which is the father and which is the mother.  The father is supposed to have  been a medical doctor.  Andrew Jackson was left with a Justice family in Macon County, NC, and apparently adopted  by them.  As a young man, Andrew Jackson Justice came to Haywood County where he met his future wife, Emelia Serena McCracken.
