There are many people I
need to acknowledge on this page. Not only did they contribute information,
photo's, and sources, but trusted me with being the historian for this line of
the Palmer Family. Without the help of these people, "Some Descendants of
Sgt. John Palmer" would not have come to pass and this website would have
a huge void in it. Some of the lines that will be mentioned on this page are
not yet on the website, because they still have living relatives in them, but
the people mentioned here are vital to the information presented on these
pages.
They are
not listed in any particular order. There is not one person on this page that
is any less important to me than any other. (Well, maybe my sister is a little
ahead of the pack because I've known her longer!)
Gail (Palmer) Thomas, for being the keeper of
the other half of my family and for sending me the information left by dad.
And for getting me started on this obessive, compulsive hobby. I love you,
sis.
Samuel Palmer Simpson and Suellen Goodman, for
having the tie that binds. For being the first of my father's missing family
to be found. For being the first cousin that remembered my father. For tying
the jagged edges of a fragmented family, that my father never talked
about, and weaving it into the huge, wonderful family that we had to wait 50
yrs. to be part of. I love you both and I am forever in your debt.
Nancy Barker, for being the second of my
lost family to be found. For being the one to advise that I was dealing with
middle names and/or nicknames left by my father, and for all the information
on the Lena Estelle (Palmer) Holt line. And for being such a great 2nd
cousin.
Ruth MacDonald, for a huge portion of the
descendants of Hiram Palmer and a great many of the pictures. For being
the eldest member of my direct line (my grandfather's 1st cousin), and having
the insight to be a collector of family information, photos, and phone
numbers.
Helen McKay, for a great deal of information
on the descendants of Hiram's brother James and a great many pictures. And for
being another one of the elders to collect anything and everything pertaining
to family.
Pat Palmer, for a great deal of additional
information on the James Palmer line and for all the time and gas she used
making trips to the archives and traveling all over York County collecting
tombstone pictures for me.
Wallace Hale, for allowing me access to his
resources and answering every email with more info than I was looking for.
And for his unwavering support and encouragement for this project, and for
being a great cousin and friend.
Aggi-Rose Reddin, for being my sounding
board, my brain-storming partner, and my directional guide. And for
sending any confirming documentation in her possession, and
giving freely of all of her knowledge, resources, and advise. But most of
all for being my cousin, and my friend.
Howard Jones and Phyllis Hines, for all their
help and contributions on the John Pemberton Palmer line and a number of
photos.
Vera English, for the major contribution on the Moses
Palmer, Jr. line and a great many photos.
Edwin Palmer
(deceased), for the major contribution of
the Norval Douglas Palmer line.
George E. Hood and Nancy Jewell, for the major
contribution of the Hood family line.
Gary and Martha Bell, for the major
contribution on the Alexander "Sandy" Miles Palmer line.
Mary and Howard Reed, for getting all of the
descendants of Sarah "Sadie" Almina (Knox) Gough to send me their
family information.
Carol (Good) Stairs, for gathering and
proofing all of the information on the Jemima Stuart (Palmer) Good family.
Donald Clayton Plummer, for the information on
the Elizabeth (Palmer) Plummer line.
Margaret Stockton, for the information on the
Elizabeth (Palmer) Nevers line.
Linda Dorei, for the information on the Emily
Victoria (Palmer) Boutwell line.
Vera Wing and Maxine Cosgrove, for the
information and photo's on the George Bennett Palmer line.
Robert Brault, for the information on the Anne
Merada (Nason) Breau line.
David & Jayne Lein, for the information on
the George Canning Price Palmer line
Carroll B. Knox, for his contribution and
pictures on the Hepsabah Merada (Palmer) Knox line.
I thank you all for your help, information, and
photos. But most of all I thank you for accepting me as part of the family and
your trust that I will do right by our ancestors and descendants. I will try
to never let you down!
