East of Rome on Dakota Avenue between old and new 34 and
just south of the railroad tracks. Located on the east side of the
road across a farmer's feed lot. There are three houses in a row.
There is a marker along the road.
John Sample gave one acre of land for this Cemetery. The
cemetery has been damaged over the years. First burial, I found, was
in 1839 and there are ca 72 burials.
There are links at the bottom of this page, that will
take you to chalked stone pictures of all stones in the cemetery.
Pictures were taken on March 29, 2005.

Note first burial in 1834 and new fence
around.

Rows run at an angle.

Looking north.

In the last 160 years I believe some of the west side has
eroded away plus broken stones were thrown here.

Along the back of the fence row.

Died Feb 4, 1867, AE 45 Y 10m 24 d.

More broken stones along back fence.
