Located in Jackson Township in the NW corner of section
25
on the hill above 1850 stone house.
Just off J20 (Salem Road) on Lexington
Avenue.
The farmer who lived in the house took us to the
cemetery.
Please ask his permission and have him take
you.
This house was built in ca 1850 and used to house a store
and the post office. Cemetery up on a hill in a pasture behind the
house.
As you walk up the old lane to the top of the hill this
is to the right.
In front of these stones is a area where a whole row
could have been. The farmer said that when coming home from hunting
after a light snow where some of it had melted he could see a row of
small humps. So probably many more buried there than stones can be
found.
There was a fenced area with a gate with one stone in it.
See the next three pictures showing three sides of that
stone.
