This Indenture made this twenty Eighth day of March in the year of 
Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine Between Lyman Lathrop
and Sarah Lathrop wife of the said Lymon of Jefferson county and 
State of Indiana of the first part and John Hall of the county and state aforesaid
of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for 
and in consideration of the sum of four Hundred Dollars lawful money 
of the United States to them in hand well and truly paid by the said party 
of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have Granted 
Bargained Sold Aliened released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents 
do grant bargain sell alien release convey and confirm unto the said 
party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever; the following 
described tract or parcel of Ground Situate in the county of Jefferson & 
State of Indiana; being the East half of the North East quarter of Section 
Eleven in Township Three North of Range Eight East containing Eighty 
acres more or less and all the estate right title interest claim and demand 
of the said party of the first part of in and to the said premises and Every part 
therefor Together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances 
to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and the rents issues and 
profits thereof To have and to hold the premises hereby bargained and sold as 
meant or intended So to be with the appurtenances to the said party of the second 
part his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said party of 
the second part his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the 
said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said parties
of the first part for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do 
convenant promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part 
his heirs executors administrators and assigns that they are the true and 
lawful owners of the premises hereby granted and have good right full 
power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and 
from aforesaid and further that they the said parties of the first part their 
heirs executors administrators will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid 
premises with their appurtenances and Every part and parcel thereof unto 
the said party of the second part heirs and assigns against all persons 
claiming and to claim by from or under them or any of them or by from or 
under any other person or persons whomsoever. in witness whereof the 
said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the

State of Indiana, Jefferson County Sct.  Before me Jonathan D. Kelso
a Justice of the peace within and for said county this day personally 
came the above named grantors Lyman Lathrop and Susanah Lathrop 
wife of the said Lyman and acknowledged the above deed of conveyance 
to be their voluntary act and deed for the use and purposes therein 
mentioned. and the said Susanah Lathrop the wife of the said Lyman 
Lathrop being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband 
and the contents of the said deed being read and fully explained to her 
did declare to me that she did voluntarily and of her own free will 
and accord and as her act and deed sign seal and deliver the 
said deed of conveyance to the said John Hall without any coercion 
or compulsion from her said husband. Given under my hand 
and Seal this Twenty Eighth day of March in the year of our Lord 
one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine
