This indenture made this Twenty nineth day of March in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty Between William Lyle of the 
Township of Elizabeth Township of Elizabeth in the County of Allegheny 
and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Matilda his of the one part, and 
Samuel Kelly of the Township County and state aforesaid of the other 
part Witnesseth that the said William Lyle and Matilda his wife for and 
in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars to him in hand paid 
or secured to be paid by the said Samuel Kelly at or before the 
ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof he doth hereby 
acknowledge Hath granted bargained & sold aliened enfeoffed Released and 
confirmed and by these presents, do grant bargain and sell enfeoff 
release and confirm unto the said Samuel Kelly his heirs executors 
administrators and assigns; All that lot piece or parcel of ground 
situate lying and being in the Township and County aforesaid It being a 
part of the same tract of land for which a patent was granted unto 
William Witherow Sen^r bearing date the 25th day of March 1790 
containing 478 Acres which patent is enrolled in the Rolls Office for 
the state of Pennsylvania in patent Book No 15 page 264 And Whereas the 
said William Witherow Senior died in or about the year 1795 & in & by 
his last Will and testament, did among other things give and bequeath 
the above tract of land unto his two sons or the surviving one namely 
William and John Witherow. And whereas the said John Witherow has since 
died leaving neither widow nor issue the said tract of land descended to 
the said William Witherow above named as reference being had to the said 
recited Will duly proven and Recorded will more fully appear: Which 
tract of land at the issuing the patent was in Rosstroon Township 
Westmoreland County but by a late division of said Counties & Townships 
it now falls unto Elizabeth Township in Allegheny County and the said 
William Witherow Jr. did by his indenture bearing date the 23rd day of 
April 1822 Convey to the said William Lyle the hereafter described lot 
being a part of the above tract Beginning at a post adjoining lands of 
the heirs of William Richey and running with the same North fifty seven 
and a half degrees West Twenty five perches to a post; thence by land of 
the heirs of William Witherow, south forty two and a half degrees west, 
Twenty one perches and one tenth to a post thence running into said 
tract Fifty seven degrees and a half east Twenty five perches to a post 
thence North forty two degrees and a half east Twenty one perches and 
one tenth to the place of beginning Containing three Acres and ten 
perches and allowance of six percent; Together with all and Singular the 
rights members priveleges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever 
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining; and the Reversions and 
Remainders Rents issues and profits thereof; To have and to held the 
said hereby granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances and 
every part and parcel thereof unto him the said Samuel Kelly his heirs 
executors and administrators or assigns To the only proper use benefit 
and behoof of him the said Samuel Kelly his heirs and assigns forever, 
and the said William Lyle for himself his heirs executors & 
administrators doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the 
said Samuel Kelly that he the said William Lyle, that he the said 
William Lyle shall and will warrant guarantee and forever defend the 
said premises from all and every person or persons lawfully claiming the 
same by through or under him or his heirs and against all and every 
person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same by through or 
under him or his heirs and against all and every other person or persons 
lawfully claiming the same. In Witness whereof the said William Lyle and 
Matilda his Wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and 
year first above written

     Before me the Subscriber one of the Commonwealth Justices of the 
peace in and for said County personally appeared William Lyle and 
Matilda his wife and acknowledged the foregoing deed to be their act and 
deed and desired the same might be recorded as such. She the said 
Matilda being examined separate and apart from her said husband and the 
contents thereof being by me fully made known to her declared that she 
did of her own free will and accord sign seal and as her act and deed 
deliver the same without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband. 
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day 
of March A. D. 1830
