8 Mar 1797 - Baptism . Edward, son of Edward Driver and Ann Robinson. Kelham, Nottinghamshire.

15 May 1820 - Arrival at Algoa Bay aboard the Albury with Carleton's Party. Located to Clumber on the Torrens River.
5 Aug 1821 - Edward Driver was attended for gunshot wounds by Surgeon Robert Currie. 1
19 Oct 1821 - William Sykes, 47 years old, born in Nottinghamshire, England, residing at Clumber, accosted Edward Driver who was moving cattle through a cattle gate. An argument ensued after which Sykes produced a gun and threatened to shoot Driver. Driver then provoked Sykes who carried out his threat, wounding Driver quite seriously in the throat, the abdomen and the skin of the breast. It emerged in evidence that Sykes offered no defence for his action, the Landrost stating that there was no good reason for it and, in addition he (Sykes) was in a state of intoxication. Although Driver recovered from the attack, the Landrost took a serious view of this unlawful and violent conduct by Sykes and sentenced him to be transported to New South Wales for 14 years hard labour and to be consigned to Robben Island until such time as  transportation had been arranged. 3

16 Mar 1833 - Ephraim Dicks was in charge of Edward Driver's store on the Bashee River when it was burned down . 1
5 Jun 1833 - birth of Dorothy
1834 - 1835 -  Edward Driver was a Leader in the Corps of Guides under Captain Richard Southey. He was wounded in the face at Murray's Krantz and received the approbation for bravery from Sir Benjamin D'Urban, the Commander-in-Chief. 2
17 Jun 1835 - birth of Jane
16 Sep 1835 - About 400 cattle of Edward Driver's and Thomas Manley's had been driven off Manley's Flat.  A patrol led by their owners overtook some at the Coombs and re-took 75.  They met a patrol of Provisional Colonial Infantry from Waai Plaats Post under Lieut. Fraser, who had been in action, killing two of the enemy. The Kowie River Valley was particularly infested by these enemy parties . 1

2 Oct 1850 - all of Edward Driver's children baptised at Peddie Methodist Church
1854 - Edward Driver received title to farms "Gwanga" and "Willow Park " .2
1858 - 1861 - Edward Driver represented Ward 5, Keiskamma. He was a foundational member of the Peddie Divisional Council . 2
Oct 1864 - 1871 - Represented villiage of Peddie on the Council.
