Laura A. Pelter, 92, of Spanaway, Wash., formerly of Bellwood, died Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, Wash.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late James and Eva (Shearer) Robertson. She married Glenn R. Pelter Oct. 13, 1945, in Bellwood. He died June 18, 1977.
Surviving are two sons: Gary Q. and wife, Christine (Stallard), of Pistol River, Ore., and Glenn R. II and wife, Diane (Bungo), of Tyrone RD 2; two daughters: Marguerite E. Woitel and husband, Gerry, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Diane L. Harris of Spanaway, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Robertson in Harrisburg.
She retired as an instructor of nursing at Altoona Hospital School of Nursing in 1977.
She was a 1933 graduate of Tyrone High School.
Laura also graduated from Allegheny General Hospital Nursing School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Laura was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and her family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Kennedy officiating.
Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
