He took sick at Nashville TN on or about the 28th of April AD 1865 and shortly afterward he was sent to Post Hospital at Nashville TN, that about this time the weather was very bad and rough and he had to take his turn on duty when he was hardly fit to do so and his sickness was brought on by exposure and cold. He took sick with bronchitis or lung disease and chronic diarrhea and that he died from the effects of said diseases on the thirtieth of October A.D. 1865. The following is from Thomas STONE 27 NOV 2001: I recently received some information on the Russellville United Church Of Christ located in Russellville, PA, from a person in that area. It is information from the History of the church. It states that George Russell and his wife, Catherine, settled in the Woodcock Valley in PA (which is where Russellville is located) in 1795. George purchased the land where the church is located in 1823. In 1830, he built a log structure on the property to be used as a school and church. The structure was about 24' X 28' and the cost of construction was about $80.00. The church and property were sold to the trustees of the church in 1833 for the sum of one dollar. Michael Stone was one of the trustees to receive the church and two years later married George & Catherine Russell's daughter, Catherine. She was his second wife as his first wife had passed away.
