Frances Mae (Gearhart) Treese, 102, formerly of 5509 Montrose Ave., Altoona, died Sunday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Clearfield County, daughter of the late E. Roy and Isabel Gearhart. She married Nelson C. Treese. He died June 3, 1968.
Mrs. Treese is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including Becky Frye of Altoona, Jeff Leedy in Washington state, Ron Dosh in California and Diane McClarron of Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Betty Leedy, Naomi Dosh, Ruth and Emily Louise; and a brother, Merrill Gearhart.
During her working years, she was employed at the Sealtest Dairy Offices for a number of years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona.
Mrs. Treese graduated from Altoona High School. Her hobbies included gardening and flowers.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ronald R. Anderson officiating (www.maukandyates.com <http://www.maukandyates.com>). Interment at Alto Reste Park.
