Postcards to Jennie Dell DeGeer

Jennie Dell was born on May 2, 1894 in Farwell, Surrey Twp., Clare Co., MI. She was the eighth of 13 children of Henry Zebedee Dell and Mary Elizabeth Hadley. On March 16, 1916 she married James Lansing DeGeer in Farwell. They had 5 children, four girls and one boy. However, before she was married she had a daughter who was raised by her sister and brother in-law Adelaide Dell and Harvey Franklin DeGeer. It is unknown for certain who the father was. It is believed it could have been a man named Russell Potter. One of these postcards below is from a young man serving in the U.S. Army in 1914. Could it be him? It's a mystery that may never be solved. These postcards were received prior to her marriage to James and during the time she was living at her parent's home in Farwell.
