My "Robert Cook" Wall.Just like everybody else that is researching their family history, I too have run into some walls that I can't get around. I have named my walls so I can keep track of them and the progress I make in tearing them down. This one I have named the "Robert Cook" wall. Below is all the information I have on Robert Cook. If you have some information that might help me I sure would appreciate it. Surely someone out there is on the other side of this wall trying to get to where I am. Hopefully someone will read this and find something that connects to their information on someone they too are trying to find, or have found. Let's get this wall torn down and join our information together. I am searching for the parents of Robert Cook. Robert Cook is my gggg-grandfather. He was born, according to most all researchers, in 1795. According to one he was born in Franklin County, Georgia. I do know that he had a son born in Jackson County, Georgia on January 1st, 1829. I have no information about his first wife except that she may have been a Landers, Gray or Rooks. His second wife's name was Anna Holder George. Her maiden name may have been Holder. Before her marriage to Robert she was married to a man with the surname of GEORGE. According to information from other researchers, Anna Holder George was born in South Carolina and according to the 1850 census of Carroll County, Georgia she was 14 years younger than Robert. That would put her birth date around 1809 or 1810. Sometime between 1840 and 1850 Robert and his family move to Carroll County, Georgia where most of his descendants stayed and where he died and is buried. Marriage records of Carroll County show that Robert married Anna on March 4th, 1846. One source says that according to his family legend Roberts father was a Cooper and changed his name to Cook. This source found where an Elisha Cook had done that, but there is no proof on him being Robers's father. Robert's first son's name is Elijah, born around 1825. Place of birth is unknown. This is about all the information I have about Robert Cook. If anyone has any information that might be of some help please e-mail me. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks. Johnny Cook.
