Ancestors of Irl Scott Lancaster & Alma Lorena Moss

The work presented here is based largely on the work of Alma Lorena Moss Lancaster, my mother, from some of my own work, and from other genealogists. I've still a lot of data to enter both from her notebooks and from other sources as well. Meanwhile, I hope that the information which is available will help you.

Please note that I have some duplicate files in these where I've still not determined whether people I've merged in are, in fact, the same as people already in the file. but there is additional data which needed to be up on the site - my life has been threatened by certain cousins if I didn't get them up, and quick - so please feel free to send me feedback on errors, especially any data you may have where there are apparent duplicates.

The material does contain some incorrect references which I have to sort out - and there are likely a few which I haven't spotted yet... :>). So please use this site and material as a reference, but always rely on documentation where possible. Birth and marriage certificates, wills, land titles, censuses, and the many other types of legal documents available all help to solve the mystery of our ancestors.

More and more of these are becoming available on the Internet. Use them to prove your family history and you'll avoid the kinds of errors I'm now trying to sort out.

Always remember, as well, to record the exact source of the documents on which you rely. That way other researchers can duplicate your research. Unfortunately, very little of my material - inherited - is documented. I have a lot of references to sources, but many are incomplete. That has to be my first and primary task in genealogy - to begin documenting this wonderful amount of material. Once it is proven, then I can move further back...
