Verlia Johnson Witten, 87, died January 18, 1983 in
Louisville.
  
Mrs. Witten was born March 26, 1895, the daughter of Levi
and Anna Blevins Johnson.
  
Her husband, Rola Hamilton Witten preceded her in death.
  
Surviving are a son, Dr. Raleigh E. Witten, Louisville, a
brother, William Harvey Johnson, Virgie, and a sister,
Mrs. Jim Ireson, Detroit, Mich.
  
Funeral services were held January 20, 1983 in Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Graham Abbott
officiating.
  
Burial was in the Johnson Cemetery, Thelma.
