WILLIAM MADISON WEBB

William Madison Webb , 87. of Greenup, a retired school teacher,
attorney and former state representative, died ay 7:57 p.m.
Saturday, Mar.12 1960 at the home of a daughter-in-law,
Mrs. Anna Wenn, of Ironton,Ohio. He was a brother of Melvin Webb
of this city.

Born October 6 1872, in this county, Mr Webb was the son of the
late William and Jane Honeycutt Webb.

He was a member of the Greenup County Bar Association.

His first wife, Mrs. Emma Porter Webb, and a son,
Marshall Lawrence Webb, preceded him in death.

Besides his brother he is survived by his widow,
Mrs.Pearl Burton Webb of Greenup; four sons, Calhoun Webb of
Baltimore; August and Robert Webb of Columbus and Benjamin Webb
of Cleveland; four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Marcum and
Miss Mary Webb of Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Elphia Brewer of
Newport News, Va.; and Mrs, Elma Hilgemam of Cincinnati, Ohio;
one sister, Mrs. Laura Phelps of Elk City, Olka.;
20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Leonard Webb, Grover Fannin and
Spurgeon Honeycutt as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Club House Cemetery at Van Lear.
