IVAN VANHOOSE 1886-1956 Ivan VanHoose Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack Ivan VanHoose 70, a retired C and O Railroad employee and a lifelong resident of this city died suddenly Friday morning of a heart attack. The son of the late Lafe and Lizzie Daniels VanHoose he was born May 23, 1886. He was preceded in death March 15, 1947 by his wife, Delesia Sublett VanHoose. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. Carter, Springfield, Ohio, two grandsons; Michael and Thomas Carter, and one nephew, Clifford Earl VanHoose of this city. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the chapel of the Preston Funeral Home with C. C. Hall and Merida Wiley as officiating ministers. Music was by the Toms Creek Quartet. Active pallbearers were Charlie Newsom, Glen Moles, W. H. Penix, George Perry, Arnold Lyons and Fred Wolchik. Burial was made in the Sublett Cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
