MALANA SUBLETT 1884-1955 Rites Held Monday For Mrs. Matt Sublett Mrs. Malana VanHoose Sublett, 71, wife of Matt Sublett of Southside, died at her home Friday Night, September 30, 1955. Born August 30, 1884, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Louise Wellman VanHoose she was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving besides the husband are one son. Raymond Sublett, Paintsville, and five grandchildren. Other survivors include seven sisters, Mrs. Earl Daniel, west Van Lear, Mrs. Verner Castle, Charley, Ky., Mrs. Gypsie VanHoose and Mrs. Robert Castle, both of Tutor Key, Mrs. Lawrence Fairchild and Mrs. Lewis Issac, both of Lowmansville, and Mrs. Frank Witten, Sitka; three brothers, Hansel VanHoose, Wittensville, and Guy and Wessie VanHoose, both of Tutor Key. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with C. C. Hall and Claude Preston as officiating ministers.
