MALTA STAPLETON 1938 Lowmansville Woman Succumbs After Long Illness From T.B. Mrs. Charlie McKenzie [Note: this should read: Mrs. Charlie Stapleton], age 39, died at her home at Lowmansville Monday, April 25, following an illness of five months from the scourge of the human race--tuberculosis. Mrs. Stapleton was formerly Miss Maltie McKenzie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.A. McKenzie. She had lived a consistent Christian life and had been a member of the United Baptist Church since 13 years of age, having joined that organization in February 1911. Mrs. Stapleton is survived by her father and mother, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. J.M. Slone; Mrs. John Hampton and Mrs. Roy Daniels, Lowmansville; Richard B. McKenzie, Prestonsburg; Clyde McKenzie, Paintsville; her husband, Charlie McKenzie (Note: this should read: Charlie Stapleton). In addition to the above she is also survived by five children, all at home. They are, Beulah Mae, Gladys, Pauline, Junior and Darrel. Paintsville Herald Thursday May 5, 1938
