JOHN STANLEY 1892-1956 Services Held Monday For John Stanley, 63, John Stanley 62, a resident of Thealka for ten years, died in a local hospital Friday night. A inter by occupation, he was a member of the United Mine Workers, Local 5834, and the Freewill Baptist Church. He was born April 25, 1892 in Johnson County, the son of the late Have and Susan Lyons Stanley. He is survived by his wife Lutisha Stanley, five daughters, Mrs. Irvin Ward, and Mrs. Curtis Sturgill. both of Thealka. Mrs. James Crider, Staffordsville, and Mrs. Billie Adkins and Mrs. Robert Williams, both of this city. Other Survivors included one sister, Sallie Bush, Kenova, W.Va. and a half brothers Wess Nelson, West Van Lear. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church with James Lyons and Don Fraley as officiating ministers Music was by the Toms Creek Quartet.
