GEORGE SLONE
1908-1996
  
Retired construction worker and farmer George Slone, 87, died
Saturday, February 10, 1996 at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
  
Mr. Slone was born November 26, 1908, in Johnson County, the son of
the late Everett and Fanny Johnson Slone.  He was a member of Sitka
Freewill Baptist Church.
  
Surviving are his wife Sylvia Slone; one son, Graden Slone of
Sitka; two daughters, Pamela O'Bryan and Charlotte Reynolds, both
of Sitka; one brother, Wilburn Lorene Slone of Fr. Myers, Florida;
one sister, Laura Imogene Brown of Davin, West Virginia; and 11
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 13, 1996 at Sitka
Freewill Baptist Church, with Jim McKenzie and Denvil Mollette
officiating.
  
Burial was in Slone Cemetery.
