GARFIELD SCARBERRY
1881-1962
Garfield Scarberry, 80, retired miner of Nippa, died in a local
hospital at 6:25 p.m., Thursday January 4 1962, following an
illness of several weeks.
The son ot the late Fred and Alifair Daniels Scarberry, he was
born in Nippa, April 15 1881, and had been a lifelong resident of
that community.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma VanHoose Scarberry; two sons,
Fred and Arnold Scarberry both of Nippa; three daughters, Mrs.
Columbus Castle, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Doug Baldridge, Springfield,
Ohio; Mrs. Bernard VanHoose, Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday from the
Nippa Freewill Baptist Church with Claude Preston and Scott Castle
as officiating ministers.
Music was by the Castle Quartet.
NOTE: Garfield was buried in the "BASCOM VANHOOSE CEMETERY".
