BAILEY ROBERTS 1888-1959 SERVICES TODAY FOR RETIRED MINER OF OFFUTT Bailey Roberts, 69, died at 7:55 a.m., January 26, in a local hospital from the effects of a stroke following a month’s illness. A resident of Offutt, where he formerly was employed as a miner, he was born in this county July 13, 1888, the son of George and Sarah Bowens Roberts. He was married in Floyd County March 12, 1913, to the former Gypsie Osborne, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Joe Roberts, Urbana, Ohio; Rufus Roberts, Offutt; two daughters, Anna Lee Blanton of this city; Mrs. Nellie Tackett, Chillicothe, Ohio; one sister, Mary Branham, Williamsport; two brothers, Fred and George Roberts, both of Weeksbury; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., today from the Boons Camp Free Will Baptist Church with Claude Preston and Scott Castle as officiating minister.
