RUSSELL PRICE

Russell Price, 42, a native of River, was killed instantly Sunday
night when struck by a train at River.

It is reported that the victim, a resident of Drift in Floyd
County, with his two brothers had driven their automobile on the C
& O track and an oncoming train struck the vehicle while the
brothers were attempting to push it off the rails. Price was
dragged several feet.

The accident occurred about 11:55 p.m. He was born Feb. 20, 1921, a
son of Jessie and Sallie Price of River and had been a resident of
Drift for the past five years.

He was affiliated with the Assembly of God.

He was married August 2, 1940 to Verna Fraley who survives.

Other survivors are three sons, Rowland, Dennis and James Russell
Price all of Drift, two daughters, Mrs. Linda Maggard and Constance
Price of Drift, and the following brothers and sisters: Charlie
Price, Dayton, Ohio, Frank Price, Prestonsburg, Otto Price,
Freeburn, Ky., Bill Price, Itmann, W. Va., Clark Price, McVey, Ky.,
Mrs. Maudie Pigg, Paintsville, and Mrs. Ina Castle, Twilight, W.
Va.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Assembly
of God Church at Drift by Teddy Shannon.

Burial was in the family cemetery at River.
